They abuse the name of Nébih – they offer for sale withdrawn food
In recent days, fraudsters misusing the name and data of the National Food Chain Security Office (Nébih) contacted unsuspecting customers by e-mail: they offered seized foodstuffs for sale, for which they also issued a request for payment. The office draws the attention of the population, businesses, and other organizations to the fact that Nébih does not carry out sales activities and does not trade with products withdrawn from circulation, so it did not issue invoices for this! If you suspect fraud, report it to Nébih’s customer service or report it to the police.
Based on the inquiries received by Nébih’s customer service, Nébih learned that an unknown person, pretending to be a Nébih employee, was offering food seized by the office for sale via email. Based on a fraudulent fee requester who misused the name of the authority, he offered the possibility of payment by bank transfer to the customers, who could place their order in a reply message. Regarding the offer, he also wrote that it is only valid for a short time, after which the products will be destroyed. The office took the necessary measures. At the same time, it warns the population and businesses and other organizations that Nébih as an authority does not deal with commercial activities. The main data of the office, including its bank account numbers, are available on the authority’s website, in case of suspicion, be sure to check them before making a possible transfer.
