Sales were stable in value but dropped in volume
In November-December 2012 wiener volume sales were up 25 percent from the base period of September-October 2012. This your there has been smaller demand for wiener: 18,000 tons were sold in the first eight months, 5 percent less than in the same period last year. Stores realised HUF 21 billion from wiener sales in this period – basically there was no change from last year. Buying wiener in bulk is cheaper: 21 percent was sold this way in the examined period, the growth was 1 percentage point. In July-August 2013 the volume weighted average price was HUF 1,140/kg (last year it was HUF 1,130/kg). In January-August 2013 73 percent of volume sales took place in units with a floor space above 400m².
