Throughout his career, Géza Vincze has held various positions at international retail and wholesale companies. He started his career at the multinational company Mars, Incorporated, then joined the METRO C&C team, and most recently worked as the Procurement Director at Penny Hungary. Now, he assumes the position of Managing Director of Auchan Hungary following a unanimous appointment by the supervisory board representing the owners. In addition to procurement, he has gained extensive experience in sales, marketing, and controlling. He is also considered an expert in both in-store and online commerce, and at METRO, his responsibilities included supporting the independent small business sector, working closely with B2B partners.
He earned his degrees from the College of Commerce, Catering, and Tourism in the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality and later from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences in International Relations.
As the Managing Director of Auchan Hungary, his primary goal is to strengthen the company’s market position.
“My aim is to integrate the experience and best practices gained in different retail models into the daily operations of Auchan’s hypermarkets, supermarkets, and online commerce—wherever feasible and justified. Our ambition is to achieve significant progress in the retail market and, in the medium term, secure a spot among the top three. To achieve this, I consider strategic expansion based on a well-thought-out commercial strategy, competitive pricing, and a unique selection of products to be key focal points.
Moreover, it is essential that customers continue to access well-functioning and familiar services, making them available in as many locations as possible. To accomplish this, we need to strengthen our supplier relationships and expand collaborations with new partners—market players who support our efforts and whose businesses we, in turn, can contribute to their success.
I intend to achieve this with a flexible and motivated team capable of responding quickly and effectively to the challenges ahead,” said the new Managing Director of Auchan Hungary.
