2020 is an unusual year for the whole world, full of renunciations, challenges and lessons, even though we are only halfway there. Not only did the pandemic upset the everyday lives of all of us, but it affected almost every sector in some way. It was no different with the winemaking profession: from early spring, the world’s international and local wine competitions – understandably – canceled their prestigious wine competitions in a row, with only a few postponing their competitions until the second half of the year.

The organizer Borkult has done everything possible to ensure that the internationally recognized wine competition, which dates back several decades, will be held again this year. The event, scheduled for the beginning of April, will eventually take place on 3-5 July, thanks to the improvement of the pandemiological situation and the extraordinary helpfulness of the city of Szekszárd and the winemakers of Szekszárd, however, it was organized between, with the participation of several foreign critics.
