VIMOSZ: the expectations of tourism companies improved significantly in January
In January, the expectations of tourism companies improved significantly compared to a year earlier – the National Association of Tourist and Hospitality Employers (VIMOSZ) announced to MTI on Tuesday based on the latest survey conducted with the cooperation of GKI Gazdaságkutató.
The Tourism Business Index (tki) stood at plus 3 points in January, which means that the players in the sector perceive their situation to be slightly improving. The value of the index increased significantly by 9 points in the first month of the year – which is the second largest increase since the beginning of measuring the index – and thus significantly exceeds its value a year ago by 21 points.
In the accommodation service, the index increased significantly (plus 8 points), while in hospitality it increased moderately (minus 3 points), and in the other tourism sector it increased slightly (plus 5 points).
In the accommodation service, it thus approached its highest value ever, while in the hospitality sector, despite the positive movement, it still did not reach the neutral level (0 point), above which the value of the index was last in June 2022.
