VIMOSZ: in April, the business mood in tourism deteriorated slightly
In April, the TKI tourism business index stood at plus 2 points on the scale between minus 100 and plus 100, which indicates that the players in the sector perceive their situation to be slightly improving, but close to stagnation – the National Association of Tourism and Hospitality Employers (VIMOSZ) announced the results of the latest survey with MTI on Thursday.
After a three-month rise, the value of the index decreased by 2 points in April, so it remains below its value a year ago.
Based on the most recent survey, the index rose in accommodation services and catering (for the fourth month in both subsectors), while in the other tourism sector it fell significantly after a two-month jump.
In April of this year, the TKI index of the enterprises of Central Hungary and Western Transdanubia stood out among the regions, followed by the Northern Great Plain, Southern Great Plain and Central Transdanubia with ratings close to average. Meanwhile, the sector’s situation was worst in Northern Hungary.
