Worldwide Fight against plastic bags
China made progress in the battle against bags, banning free plastic shopping bags, in the US stores have to collect back the used bags.
Australian Government move to scrap plastic bags has brought the issue to the forefront. Environment Minister Peter Garrett said that he hoped to get rid of plastic bags completely by the end of the year.
Australians use roughly four billions disposable plastic shopping bags every year. An estimated 94 million of them end up in our parks, rivers, creeks, bays and beaches.
In New York state food retailers have to collect back the old plastic bags, since 2002 shoppers in San Francisco have to pay fees, when giving plastic bags for the costumers.
