World Bank: food prices rose by one-fourth last year
The 2011 food price index was 24 percent above the 2010 value and the volatility is expected to continue – told the World Bank.
Between September and December 2011, food prices were slightly lower, but the 2011 annual figure is much higher than in 2010. According to the recent Food Price Watch publication of the World Bank; the global food prices still can be considered as high, the average price of wheat, corn and rice are considerably higher than the value in 2010.
