Storm and frost decimates French vine production
French vine production was hit by several bad factors this year: summer frost in Bordeaux, summer storms in Champagne have sprouted grapes, so experts expect a 20 percent drop in wine prices this year – Bloomberg. com wrote.
According to theestimates of the French Ministry of Agriculture, the French wine market will fall by 19 percent this year, which is about 4.9 billion bottles of wine less, compared to last year. If the estimates prove to be true, this will be the weakest year since 1957, when spring frosts caused a similar amount of damage to grape production. (portfolio.hu)
