Restaurants may close due to the the increase of game tax

According to the Hungarian Gambling Association, ten thousand restaurants serving as game rooms may close, due to the fivefold increase of game tax, imposed on the slot machine industry for the next quarter. The act enters into force on the 1st of November.

Until February, the operators of the slot machines return 70 percent of the machines – 17 thousand slot machines out of 24 thousand will be extracted from the market – and 30 thousand people will become unemployed – told the Hungarian Gambling Association on Friday to MTI.
