Law on the restaurateur trade and smoking regulation
On 22 March 2011 the Guild of Hungarian Restaurateurs (MVI) organised a meeting for the representatives of eight organisations to discuss the bill concerning the restaurateur trade. The Ministry for National Economy asked the trade to participate in the wording of the new law. Work started with defining the principles based on which a package of proposals can be presented to Parliament. MVI’s leaders also informed participants about the relevant details of the new smoking regulation that enters into force next January. Smoking will be allowed on terraces and in gardens and smoking rooms built before 1 January 2012 can also continue to operate.
