The two calls, implemented within the framework of the CAP Strategic Plan, are planned to be announced in the first half of 2025 with a total budget of HUF 50 billion. The efficiency and profitability of domestic crop production are not determined exclusively in the field. It is of great importance that the post-harvest work processes are carried out at the highest possible technological level and professionally. The purpose of the calls for proposals is therefore to develop and modernize the storage, drying and cleaning capacities of arable and other crops, to establish new plants, to improve their energy efficiency and to encourage the use of technologies that utilize renewable energy sources. Technological developments related to seed production that farmers want to implement are also part of the schemes.
They also aim to create an opportunity to purchase machines and instruments suitable for quality testing of crops
The call for proposals supporting larger, complex projects was designed for applications with a support requirement of between 200 million and 1 billion forints, while the call focusing on smaller-scale projects was designed for applications with a support requirement of up to 200 million forints, so farms of different sizes do not compete with each other in this investment scheme either. In the case of the complex call, it is planned to give special consideration to investments implemented within the framework of producer cooperation. In order to prepare the support schemes, extensive professional consultation was conducted, the proposals and opinions of the relevant professional organizations and institutions were requested, and they were also involved in the preparation of the calls for proposals.
