Chocolate prices may increase despite the ciwil war has ended
According to experts, the world price of cocoa beans can decrease by 12 percent in the next few days after yesterday the fights have ended in Ivory Coast, so cocoa bean exports soon to be restarted in the West African country.
In early March, the price of cocoa beans in the New York commodity exchanges increased to its 32-year peak, to 3,775 USD per tonne. According to analysts surveyed by Bloomberg now as the ciwil war ended cocoa bean prices may fall to 2,638 USD per tonne.
In spite of this it may become unavoidable that chocolate prices to be increased in the domestic stores, but its extent and timing is the responsibility of the separate manufacturers – told Bélai Krisztina, Secretary General of the Association of Hungarian Confectionery to Világgazdaság.
