Nestlé Goes Vegan With Meat-Free Burger Range
Nestlé is launching a range of plant-based burgers on fast-growing vegan foods market. According to the retailer, vegan products could compete for taste with meat-containing burgers.
Nestlé is trying to keep its consumers by making products healthier, with less salt and sugar, and by introducing products in line with modern eating habits. ’Although many consumers recognise that eating less meat is good for both of them and for the planet, but plant-based meat alternatives often do not live up to their expectations,’ Nestlé said in a recent statement.
According to Nestlé, its meat-free burgers are to be launched in several European markets this month, under the brand “Incredible Burger”. The meat-alternatives are made from soy and wheat protein with beetroot, carrot and bell pepper extracts. The firm states that the vegan burgers will taste almost exactly like traditional beef burgers.(ESM)
