In the footsteps of our protected shops – A downtown experience walk reminiscent of the past
For the anniversary of the unification of Pest, Buda and Óbuda, the Hungarian Trade and Hospitality Museum has developed an exclusive program. As a specialist museum, the participants are invited on a downtown experience walk that evokes the past.
The historical background material serves as spiritual food, while the offer of these old commercial and catering shops serves as spiritual and physical food on the walk. We trace our protected shops in downtown Budapest. We recall their bright past, while we can admire their present-day faces through personal experience, thereby getting to know the city center from a new side. We will guide you into a magical world where the past and the present meet. We will start our walk where an archduchess has appeared, and to finish, we will visit Budapest’s most famous and patina patisserie, where generations pass on knowledge and tradition to each other. Come and celebrate the 150th anniversary of the unification of Budapest with us!
