Sunday opening hours – Pro and con
The proposal is intended not only to give the workers a rest day, but also to reduce the competitive disadvantage of the smaller shops against hypermarkets. Harrach Péter believes that there will not be dismissals and turnover decreases due to their proposal.
According to the experience of OKSZ, customers are also divided in the issue. A wide range of them like the Sunday opening hours, not only as a convenience, but because they do not have time to shop on weekdays, and international surveys clearly show that the longer opening hours encourage people to buy more – reports hvg.hu.
