Shoppers, trends
Google is about to open its first store at 131 Greene Street in New York. The 750m² retail unit’s opening is part of the trend called ‘reverse showrooming’ – shoppers look for products and compare prices online and buy in ‘physical’ stores. We have already reported on Amazon following the same path as Google. However, traditional stores are still frightened by the effects of showrooming; in the meantime shoppers keep changing platforms, formats and channels: they don’t mind what the trends are!
