Consumer confidence in the United States improved less than expected by analysts in February.
The Conference Board nonprofit Economic Research Institute announced on Tuesday that the consumer confidence index rose from 130.4 in January to 130.7 in February. Analysts expected a greater improvement to 132 points.
The current situation sub-index deteriorated from 173.9 points in January to 165.1 points, and the expectation sub-index for the next half year rose from 101.4 points to 107.8 points in February. (MTI)
