Varga Mihály: the fourth wave does not pull down the economy
The 4th wave of the pandemic is expected to be weaker due to the high vaccination rate, so economic growth of around 7 percent and a deficit of around 7.5 percent can be expected unchanged this year, Minister of Finance Varga Mihály said at the Portfolio Budapest Economic Forum conference in Budapest on Tuesday.

The fourth wave of the pandemic does not pose a serious threat to economic growth
He stressed that the government’s intention is to bring the deficit back to its previous range of less than 3 pe cent. Graduality, however, is very important so that “we don’t start another wave of recession,” he underlined. (MTI)
