Varga Mihály : the economy may grow by 12-14 percent in the second quarter
According to the data followed by the ministry on a weekly basis, the double-digit economic growth forecast for the second quarter, at around 12-14 percent, is justified, Mihály Varga Minister of Finance said at the Joint General Assembly’s annual general meeting in Budapest on Thursday.
He emphasized that the Hungarian crisis management had brought encouraging results in comparison with the European Union. While the economy in Hungary grew by 1.9 percent in the first quarter, the EU average fell by 0.4 percent, and the eurozone countries shrank by 0.6 percent, he noted. (MTI)
