Diverse trends, constant growth
Retail sales of household detergents are expanding constantly and amount to nearly HUF 20 billion annually. The rate of growth is different for various segments. The segment of washing agents represents more than HUF 8 billion, with in store sales growing by 4 per cent last year. Sales of toilet detergents fell by 8 per cent from over HUF 4 billion. The market of kitchen and bathroom detergents exceeded HUF 3 billion with an increase of 17 per cent. Window cleaning liquids show a 4 per cent decline, while floor cleaning agents stagnated and kitchen towels grew by 8 per cent. The market share of private labels is around 10 per cent in this category, in terms of value.
