Waste-Not Kitchen Creates Change
The Waste-Not Kitchen has created a range of nourishing soups that provide a practical solution to reducing food waste and feeding those in need. Each soup is filled with NZ-raised meat and fresh vegetables that have been donated by Farro and T&G Global. Flavours include Roast Chicken, Hearty Beef & Bean, Moroccan Lamb and Asian Pork Noodle and serve two consumers and two people in the wider community.
Not only are the soups nutritious, but for every soup bought, the registered charity will donate one to families in need at Auckland’s Women’s Refuge or to the I Have A Dream Charitable Trust. The idea behind the soups is that through feeding oneself, consumers are helping others in need; they are also contributing to minimising food wastage across New Zealand.
Janene Draper added that “If we have gone to the effort to produce meat, let’s ensure it is all used and used wisely. Waste-Not Kitchen uses surplus meat and vegetables, that would otherwise be thrown out, to make ready-to-heat hearty meals.”
