Pioneering results in the European eel reproduction
European eel larvaes were artificially aroused to life by the staff of the Szent István University Department of Fish in Gödöllő. The researchers used female fish from Lake Balaton as a first step for the artificial reproduction. The success gives hopeto save the species threatened with extinction.
Müller Tamás, the department's senior told MTI that the artificial larvaes Are living for only a few days, so the next task is to create the physiological conditions to the development of the trainable spawns, which would be unprecedented. (MTI)
