Dm has published its first sustainability report covering all 14 countries in the group.

Dm’s sustainability report for the 2023-2024 financial year came out in Hungary at the beginning of June. With the report the dm economic community seeks to contribute to a more positive future, covering social, environmental and corporate governance aspects.

Dm has set a target of net zero emissions by 2045

In 2023 the dm group sourced 67% of its energy use from renewable sources, which was 6% more than in the previous year. In its own operations dm already uses photovoltaic energy at 78 locations worldwide in some of the dm stores, office buildings and warehouses. In Hungary dm has been sourcing 30% of its electricity from the Szihalom power plant since March 2025. At the end of 2023 43% of the plastic used in the packaging of dm’s own brand products were made from recycled materials.

Most manufacturing partners have already signed the dm sustainability code

At dm responsibility runs through the entire value chain, so great attention is paid to socially fair, environmentally friendly and transparent processes – from the selection of raw materials to the delivery of products. By signing dm’s sustainability code, partners commit to implementing the sustainability strategy for dm-branded products and ensuring the traceability of critical raw materials from sustainable sources. Up until now 94% of the manufacturers of dm-branded products have signed the code.
