Postpaid toll payment with KUPON, the official payment provider of the National Toll Payment Service Ltd.
As of January 1, 2024, the electronic toll payment system (e-toll system, HU-GO system) to be paid in proportion to the distance traveled has been significantly transformed. As a result of the changes, with the appearance of the so-called payment contributor role, the subsequent payment of tolls became more flexible.
With the creation of the role, the National Toll Payment Service Co., Ltd. (NÚSZ Zrt.) has opened the way for road users to have extensive access to postpaid toll payment. The company concluded the first payment contribution agreement with KUPON Kft.
Users with HU-GO registration can apply for the subsequent toll payment scheme provided by the payment provider. With the help of the scheme, the liquidity of users can be significantly improved. HU-GO customers using a prepaid plan must top up their balance, the value of which is constantly decreasing as a result of their road usage. In the subsequent toll payment scheme, the payment contributor assumes financial responsibility for the customer’s road use, and then invoices him/her a toll proportional to the distance traveled. With this, you have to pay your road usage fee to the payment contributor afterwards, on a weekly basis, based on the exact settlement. Another big advantage of the scheme is that there cannot be a case where the customer receives a fine because the pre-charged balance runs out of their account.
