EU-funded tobacco factory was handed over in Debrecen
The new tobacco factory of the Róna Dohánytermelő Kft. was completed in the scope of a 3.1 billion HUF investment in Debrecen. The new tobacco factory provides employment for 440 people – Marc Wagener, the executive director of the majority owner, the Luxembourg-based Vandewyck Tobacco told on Tuesday at the handover ceremony of the factory.
The investnment was realized with the European Union’s 322.5 million HUF support. This is the group's biggest ever simultaneous development – the director added.
Kósa Lajos (Fidesz-KDNP), mayor of Debrecen, told that there is an industry revival in Debrecen because the 125-year history of tobacco production in the city was terminated in 2004. (MTI)
