EU makes bigger steps to protect consumers
Last year 60,000 compaints were lodged to the EU, more than 2,300 legal cases was started because of unfair commercial pratices.
13 March is the European Day dedicated
to consumer rights, which has been celebrated for these last ten
years. Besides EU gives standard protection for shoppers and drawing
up clearer contracts, also a ‘black list’ of unfair contract
terms under EU law were drawn up on www.isitfair.eu
website.
On the tenth anniversary of the
International Consumer Day, on 13th March, every European
citizen will have the opportunity to meet European Commissioner
Meglena Kuneva on-line. Mrs. Kuneva will be answering all sorts of
questions regarding consumer rights in 12 languages.
