The tobacco product tracking system was put into operation before the EU deadline
Hungary fulfilled its EU tobacco product monitoring obligation before the deadline. The ND National Tobacco Trade Nonprofit Zrt. fully implemented the identification and registration of all actors in the sales chain – the ND Nonprofit Zrt. told MTI on Tuesday.
Since 20 May, manufacturers and traders have required more than 40 million unique identifiers in a system designed to track down tobacco products in real time to combat the illicit tobacco trade. (MTI)
