HEINEKEN restarts hop growing in Hungary
Upon the initiative of the Hungarian Interchurch Aid (MÖS) and HEINEKEN Hungária, 2,500 hop plants have been planted to restart hop farming in Hungary. The brewing company invests HUF 30 million in the programme and will buy the hops at market price. MÖS president-CEO László Lehel and HEINEKEN Hungária’s managing director Geert Swaanenburg were present at the ceremonial planting, together with Minister of Agriculture Dr István Nagy, who told: it is a priority objective for the government to increase agriculture’s competitiveness.
