Ukrainian honey can come again
On Monday evening, a new government decision was published in the Magyar Közlöny, which makes it possible to import Ukrainian honey to Hungary again. The interesting part of the decision lies in the fact that the domestic beekeeping community has repeatedly spoken out against the influx of Ukrainian honey into Europe.
The decision signed by the Prime Minister states that Decree No. 130/2023 on the measures related to the transport of certain agricultural products from Ukraine will be repealed. (IV. 18.) Line 8 of the table contained in Annex 1 of the Government Decree. This decree previously banned the import of 24 Ukrainian products, including natural honey. The current decision revokes one of these prohibitions, the ban on the import of honey.
