Until the end of the year or until the resource limit is exhausted, businesses can apply for loan programs with preferential interest rates of HUF 20 billion, operated by MFB Zrt., specifically helping the liquidity situation of agriculture and food processing. The joint working capital loan programs of MFB Zrt. and the Ministry of Agriculture include the MFB Agricultural Working Capital Loan Program, the MFB TÉSZ Working Capital Loan Program and the MFB Food Industry Working Capital Loan Program. Within the framework of the loan programs, regardless of size, agricultural enterprises can take out working capital loans with a maximum term of six years, subject to a grace period of up to 3 years.

For loans, the Ministry of Agriculture provides an interest subsidy of 60 percent, but no more than 4 percentage points

Thanks to this, the loan interest payable by businesses is extremely favorable in the current loan financing environment, expected to be around 8 percent. The long term and grace period of the loans enable agricultural enterprises with the opportunity to overcome the difficulties that arose due to last year’s and this year’s drought or temporary market sales problems, and for food processing enterprises even cheaper financing of the purchase of raw materials.

The loans in the direct loan provision of MFB Zrt. (loan amount over HUF 50 million) are already available from May 11, 2023, while it is expected that they can be applied for within days at the financial institutions that have joined the loan programs. Information on the detailed terms and conditions of the loan programs, the method of applying for loans, and the financial institutions participating in the loan programs can be found on the website www.mfb.hu.
