More green and health-conscious measures from ALDI
By 2025 ALDI will only use 100-percent recyclable packaging with private label products. ALDI continues to cut down on its plastic use: after stopping to sell single-use plastics such as cutlery, cups and plates and introducing green alternatives, the next step was removing plastic lids from private label products made in Hungary. First butter spread, kefir and cream cheese products saw the plastic lid disappear, then in March 2020 the highly popular 450g sour cream appeared on the shelves of ALDI stores without the plastic lid – told Bernhard Haider, managing director of ALDI Magyarország Élelmiszer Bt.
ALDI has also started a partnership with E.ON: in 12 counties 75 e-vehicle charging points are waiting for drivers free of charge. ALDI offers a large selection of high quality organic, vegan, vegetarian, no added sugar, sugar-, palm oil-, lactose- and gluten-free products. From May 2020 next to their price tags shoppers find symbols that help them to identify these, combined with a colour code system. (x)
