A new organization in the certification process of increasingly well-known High Quality Food (KMÉ) branded products

Following the request of ÉLBC NKft., which exercises the trademark ownership rights, from February 2025 a new organization, Biokontroll Hungária Nonprofit Kft., will also participate in the on-site inspection of products applying for the KMÉ, i.e. High Quality Food trademark. As is known, the fundamental goal of the KMÉ trademark is to improve the quality of food and develop consumer awareness, and shape consumers’ attitudes.

It helps customers to find out and distinguishes exceptionally high-quality foods from other products on the market. Although individual products can be designated for the trademark through a tender, its award is always preceded by a complex inspection to the extent that not only the given product, but also the applicant company and the facility producing the product must meet the prescribed requirements.

ÉLBC NKft. is a subsidiary of Biokontroll Hungária nonprofit Kft. When commissioning the organization, it took into account the professional competence and suitability of the organization, which was proven during the inspection and certification of producers and manufacturers applying for and using organic certification in organic farming. The company’s technology, equipment, knowledge and food industry experts also gave it the ability to authentically assess the suitability of a product and its production conditions for obtaining the KMÉ trademark.

Biokontroll’s nearly 400 eco-labeling partners, representing almost all areas of the food industry, are a guarantee that the inspection standard we represent will be reliable and effective in the case of KMÉ trademarks as well, pointed out Dr. Péter Roszík, the company’s managing director. In addition, the approach and quality concept behind the KMÉ trademark and organic farming are similar, even if the expectations are not identical, so the inspection and compliance with this system of expectations is not a problem for us.
