The price of meat may increase due to another problem
The laboratory of the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) confirmed the presence of a highly pathogenic avian influenza virus in two duck farms in Bács-Kiskun county, the organization announced on its website on Friday.
Nébih’s laboratory confirmed the presence of the H5N1 subtype of the bird flu virus at two farms, Bugac and Kiskunmajsa, where 450 and 800 mallard geese were kept, the organization announced.
The increased mortality and the symptoms drew the attention of animal keepers to the presence of the virus, they wrote. In order to prevent the spread of the epidemic, the animal health experts eradicated the herds.
