István Nagy emphasized at the handover of new workshops at the Fodor József Food Industry Technical School and Vocational Training School, which belongs to the Great Plain Agricultural Vocational Training Center, that the national government has set itself the task of renewing not only Hungarian agriculture and agricultural production, but also the food industry and food processing. Among the measures taken to renew the production base, the politician mentioned the land for farmers and the irrigation development program, the regulation of the taxation of family farms, the support of generational change, and the support of producer cooperation. The government made a strategic decision by setting the national co-financing rate for European Union funds to the maximum level, 80 percent. With this step, which is unique in Europe, the government has tripled the amount of resources that can be spent on rural development – said István Nagy, adding: this amount is 3,150 billion forints. The government has created the foundations of production, supports the development of food processing to a great extent, and it is also necessary for the growing generation to possess knowledge that will enable them to secure a living for themselves and their families with competitive work – the minister said. Vocational training institutions are the pledge of the future – he emphasized, and explained that the content of the training has already been renewed, the development of the equipment park is underway, and the modernization of school buildings is in progress – the politician announced.

In the rural development program, 19 projects won 15.5 billion forints in support of the development of demonstration farms

The Great Plain Agricultural Vocational Training Center received almost one billion forints. New machines were purchased in the seven institutions of the center, technological processes and the IT background necessary for training were renewed – the politician explained. In the Fodor Technical School, they were able to purchase modern food industry machines and educational tools, with which they will further strengthen the professional standard of meat processing and bakery training, and provide young people with knowledge that will allow them to confidently take their place in their profession – the head of the agricultural ministry announced. In view of the success of the developments, a decision was made to provide an additional five billion forints to support the development of vocational training institutions and training centers belonging to agricultural vocational training centers. The new tender will once again provide an opportunity for theoretical and practical training to be even more closely linked – said István Nagy, adding: in the tender that will be published soon, one billion forints of support can be won per center. József Horváth, the general director of the Great Plain Agricultural Vocational Training Center, announced that the bakery-pastry and meat workshops at the Fodor Technical School were purchased for 128 million forints, among other things, a vacuum filling machine, a cooking-smoking cabinet, a steam-tube oven, a skimmer, a refrigerated workbench, a liquid sourdough maker, a cooling-proofing chamber, a blast chiller-freezer, mixers, and refrigerators. The food industry training at the school is built on close and effective cooperation between education and production. Students are part of the production of food industry products, and in the process they learn about technological processes and the conditions of quality assurance. The foods produced in the institution – and sold in the school shop that opened a year ago – are free of additives, just like the ones our grandfathers and grandmothers made – said the expert.
