Another milestone is Syngenta’s investment in Mezőtúr
Syngenta has built the largest corn and sunflower seed research base in Europe in Mezőtúr. It was stated at the ceremonial handover that the company spent about 1.5 billion forints on the investment, through which the station equipped with modern technology will breed various varieties of corn and sunflowers for the entire European market.
The Minister of Agriculture, Nagy István, who handed over the investment, explained in his celebratory greeting: today the Hungarian seed sector produces almost 190 billion HUF worth goods a year, half of which is exported directly. The market expansion in recent years shows that there is a future for expanding seed processing capacity and storage capacity.
