Another two thousand beekeepers will receive support in the bee animal welfare program
The “Bee Animal Welfare Support” tender published within the framework of the Rural Development Program will provide assistance to almost two thousand beekeepers in the amount of HUF 2.7 billion, announced the Minister of Agriculture, István Nagy.
The head of the department reminded that the Ministry of Agriculture announced its call for support for beekeeping activities that prioritize the welfare of bees on June 3, 2022. The commitment period of the application lasts from July 1, 2022 to December 31, 2024. The tender aims to develop the bee colonies’ ability to provide ecosystem services and prevent bee health problems by providing support for ensuring the hygiene and animal protection conditions of the bees by complying with the obligation to return honey. If the application conditions are met, the amount of support is HUF 15 per bee family and per year, emphasized István Nagy. In connection with the tender, together with the current winners, a total of about 3,300 applications are now being supported, in the amount of almost HUF 4.5 billion, and the processing of the remaining applications is constantly progressing – concluded the Minister of Agriculture.
