New agricultural irrigation development projects may be implemented
Irrigation development has now become of decisive importance in maintaining the safety of agricultural production and in the cultivation of crops with high added value under the changed climatic conditions.mThe Ministry of Agriculture is now providing funds for more than a hundred new irrigation development projects for farmers, announced Minister of Agriculture István Nagy.

According to István Nagy’s information, within the framework of the Rural Development Program’s call for tenders supporting irrigation development, another 102 projects wanted to be implemented by agricultural producers were supported in the amount of more than HUF 41.4 billion. Through the support, irrigation communities and agricultural enterprises develop, among other things, their irrigation infrastructure and related artefacts, renew their existing, outdated equipment or install new irrigation equipment. Beneficiaries will be able to receive the supporting documents soon.
As part of the call, a total of 1,181 irrigation projects already have supporting documents, have been implemented or are being implemented, in the amount of HUF 141.6 billion.
The Government of Hungary pursues a farmer-friendly agricultural policy, therefore it helps the Hungarian countryside with all possible means – emphasized the Minister of Agriculture.
