Another price drop at SPAR: Hungarian dairy products have become cheaper
SPAR Hungary has implemented another price reduction in the dairy product category: the normal consumer price of a total of 27 private label products has been reduced. The measure affects products from Hungarian suppliers only, so customers can access domestically produced staple foods at even more favorable prices.
SPAR Hungary has been consistently working to provide its customers with favorable consumer prices during their everyday shopping: since the beginning of this year, it has already implemented price reductions in several basic food categories and is continuously examining where there is still room for further reductions. The company aims to ensure lower prices while maintaining the usual quality and wide selection.
The maximum price reduction for private label dairy products, which was recently introduced, is 9.3%. The new prices came into effect in several stages: they appeared on store shelves on March 19, 23 and 26, 2026. The change affects a wide range of basic dairy products, including ESL and UHT milk (11 products), cottage cheese (5 products), sour cream and farm cream (9 products), and natural yogurts (2 products). The affected products include both traditional and lactose-free versions. The dairy products on offer come from domestic manufacturers – such as Alföldi Tej, Tolnatej or Sole-Mizo – so the price reduction was implemented in cooperation with Hungarian food industry players.

- S-BUDGET farmföl 20%, 320 g: -9.3%
- SPAR HAZAI.SZERETEM milk 2.8%, 1l: -9.1%
- SPAR Free From UHT milk 2.8%, 1l: -7.5%
- SPAR low-fat jarred cottage cheese, 250 g: -7%
- S-BUDGET UHT milk 2.8%, 1l: -6.3%
- S-BUDGET semi-fat cottage cheese, 500 g: -6%
- S-BUDGET sour cream 20%, 850g: -5.7%
- S-BUDGET sour cream 20%, 175g: -5.3%
- SPAR FREE FROM ESL milk 1.5%, 1l: -5.2%
- SPAR FREE FROM ESL milk 2.8%, 1l: -5%
- SPAR UHT milk 3.5%, 1l: -5%
Milk and dairy products are among the key, strategically important basic categories of SPAR’s offering, as they are an integral part of everyday consumption and are purchased regularly by almost every household. It is particularly important for SPAR to provide a stable, wide range and competitive prices in this category, in cooperation with Hungarian suppliers.
