Budni expands with a new store concept in Edeka
The Budni drugstore chain is expanding into the Edeka and Marktkauf chains in the south-western region of Germany with a new shop-in-shop concept. According to Jürgen Mäder, Managing Director of Edeka Südwest, the concept is a perfect fit for Edeka stores.
The so-called Budni Beautybox has opened in an E-Center in Baden-Württemberg and six more such openings are planned this year, with a number of new locations in the region in the medium term.
The new modular concept adapts to the specific needs of each Edeka store and offers a drugstore assortment of up to 8,500 items on an area of up to 250 square metres, mainly relying on personal care products. Budni aims to score particularly well in the areas of sustainability and natural cosmetics; the stores also offer decorative cosmetics, fragrances, face, hair and dental care products. In addition to a number of well-known branded products, private labels can be found on the shelves.
„In the future, shoppers will be able to save themselves the extra trip to the drugstore, as Beautybox offers a full range of drugstore products at competitive prices,” Jürgen Mäder said.
„With Budni, our aim is to strengthen the competence of independent Edeka dealers in the drugstore sector,” Claas Meineke, Managing Director of Hamburg-based Budni Handels- und Servicegesellschaft told.
