Billa And OMV Launch New Format In Czechia
Petrol station operator OMV and retailer Billa have launched a new food retail chain under the Viva Billa banner.
The first Viva Billa store opened at the Strakonicka gas station near Chuchle in Prague, the retailer added.
The retailer plans to open three more outlets in Czechia by the end of this year.
Liam Casey, CEO of Billa Czechia said, “Customers demand quality and fresh food as standard, wherever they buy it. Now together, we are bringing this standard to OMV gas stations, where customers can easily and quickly make their everyday purchases, as if they had visited any of our stores.[…]
“Viva Billa is a guarantee of quality for customers and a big commitment for us in fulfilling their expectations.”

At Viva Billa, customers can find over 1,100 items, including the chain’s private brands.
In addition to an assortment of fresh food, mainly sourced from Czech suppliers, shoppers also find fresh fruit, vegetables, cold meats, cheese, drinks and pastries, among others.
Billa will deliver food to the OMV gas station three times a week directly from its central warehouse in Modletice near Prague.
OMV will use the existing systems owned by Billa to order goods. In the future, the station will connect them to the EDI system, the retailer noted.
