“Experience, strategy, and a customer-centric mindset in retail” — this is the credo of László Bagaméri, a professional with more than three decades of experience in commerce.

László Bagaméri

Across his career in both the domestic and international FMCG and retail landscape, he has focused on understanding shopper decision-making, improving efficiency, and building data-driven commercial operations.

He gained international experience in England and Norway, where he developed first-hand insight into how advanced retail markets operate, modern supply-chain solutions, and retail models built around consumer expectations. These learnings later became a defining element of his leadership work in Hungary as well.

One of the key milestones of his career was at Tesco Global Stores, where as a senior executive he was responsible for operations across multiple regions and played an active role in launching the Tesco Express format in Hungary.

His work centred on adapting internationally proven models and establishing efficient store operations.

He then took on a leadership role as Sales Director at Praktiker Kft. While not a classic FMCG player, the position provided further experience in a high-volume market driven by fast purchase decisions in the DIY and household goods category.

Later, as Commercial Director at Újház Centrum, he worked on strategic topics in building materials retail, with particular emphasis on the market role of sustainable and energy-efficient solutions.

László Bagaméri’s professional approach is characterised by data-driven decision-making, strategy-building informed by international experience, and strong market adaptability.

He believes the foundation of successful retail lies in understanding customer needs, staying open to innovation, and creating long-term value.

As of 1 January 2026, he continues his career as Managing Director of Napcsillag Kft., the operator of the Ecofamily retail chain. In this role, his priorities include further strengthening customer-centric operations, developing the store network, and applying efficient, sustainable FMCG retail models in day-to-day operations.

His career illustrates how international experience can be combined with deep knowledge of the local market — shaping a leadership mindset capable of influencing the future of retail.
