GKI’s Business Index on its new historical peak
In December, the GKI’s economic growth index reached its new historic peak. According to a survey conducted by GKI (www.gki.hu), with the support of the EU, business expectation has never been so high, and consumer expectations have only been more favorable in 2002 in the days of the Medgyessy Government’s 100-day program.
Within the business sector, the industrial and constuction industry’s confidence also set a historic peak in December, while the confidence of trade was only slightly more favorable than before. Only the expectations of the service companies deteriorated somewhat, compared to November, though it was at its historical maximum. The industrial confidence index in December minimally surpassed its September peak.
