Asda rolls out Whywaste tech to reduce food waste
Asda has partnered with digital company Whywaste in a bid to reduce food waste in stores via an app staff members can use.
The digital date checking technology is designed for staff to be able to identify which products are near their expiry dates so they can be marked down.
As a result, staff won’t have to look at their products and can access the information via Whywaste’s app.
The move comes part of Big 4 grocer’s ambitions to reduce food waste with a target of reducing it by 50% by 2030.
