At the meeting, István Nagy spoke about the fact that the relations between the two countries have been continuously strengthening over the past years. Hungary’s experiences and innovative solutions can help its partner in the field of sustainable development and modernization of the agricultural economy.
At the meeting, the Minister also presented the possibilities of the European Union’s agricultural support system
Thanks to the Common Agricultural Policy, producers receive funds through two pillars – on the basis of area and for the implementation of investments and developments. There is a debate in the EU about whether the CAP should be maintained in the long term, but our country is committed to strengthening and maintaining the EU’s agricultural support system. Thanks to this, farmers are cultivating areas that would not be financially profitable, but are crucial for preserving our environment, he added.
The meeting also discussed water management, fruit production and food industry issues
According to István Nagy, Georgia must find a way to allow peaches, apples or grapes from the Caucasian country to appear on EU markets as processed products. István Nagy offered our country’s experiences in the field of irrigation development. An important area of cooperation between the two
