A new color spot on the KMÉ palette: direct-pressed apple juice
Another processed fruit product has become a candidate for the KMÉ trademark. Special certification requirements for direct-pressed apple juice have been prepared. As usual at KMÉ, expectations are also high in this product range. Applicants must meet strict requirements regarding the raw material, the usable ingredients, the finished product, and even the production conditions and technologies.
The KMÉ trademark can be applied for with a product called direct-squeezed (not made from concentrate) apple juice, the production conditions of which – in addition to the basic requirements of the current legislation and the Hungarian Food Code – also meet a number of additional requirements. This way, the KMÉ trademarked apple juice is guaranteed to be “more” than its peers. The right to use the trademark can be applied for a heat-preserved product that contains only apple juice. The use of apple concentrate is excluded, but the mixing of several types of apples is allowed. Mixing fibrous (cloudy) juice and filtered juice in the product is acceptable. The water-soluble solids content must reach at least 10.0 ref%.
Serious requirements must be met for certification
KMÉ trademarked apple juice can only be made from apples grown using biological plant protection and bee-friendly technology. During the production of the product, direct production technology is accepted. This expectation must apply from the harvesting and sorting of the fruit, through the pressing of the raw material, to the packaging of the finished product.
