A new SPAR store opened on the site of an old grocery store in Békéscsaba
SPAR Hungary breathed new life into an old commercial facility after opening its Lencsési út supermarket, renovated with an investment of HUF 120 million and employing 16 employees.
“It fills us with pride when we can hand over a new SPAR supermarket in such a way that during the renovation we recycle as many existing materials and equipment as possible and thus cause the smallest possible environmental impact during the modernization. When it comes to our investments, we always keep sustainability in mind, which is why we usually modernize a building in such a way that it results in much more economical operation than before.”
– said Márk Maczelka, head of communications at SPAR Hungary.
At 20 Lencsési út in Békéscsaba, SPAR reused a store that previously operated as a commercial unit. The facade has undergone an update, and the interior has also been transformed, where transparent spaces and modern furniture help customers find their way around as easily as possible. Organic and free goods belonging to a health-conscious lifestyle, food produced by domestic family and small businesses, as well as convenience and own-brand products feature prominently.
