A new tender supports social enterprises related to agriculture

A new call for tenders for rural development has been published with a budget of HUF 1.6 billion, which provides disadvantaged social groups with the opportunity to carry out value-creating activities related to agriculture, announced Zsolt Feldman, the state secretary responsible for agriculture and rural development.

Zsolt Feldman said that based on the call, the supported cooperation of institutions, organizations dealing with disadvantaged target groups and farmers serves to sustainably improve the quality of life of vulnerable target groups by allowing them to carry out agricultural activities within the framework of social institutional developmental employment and the related product production, they acquire practical knowledge related to service provision and management. In the background of the publication of the application, in addition to the rehabilitation effort, the social, rural development and employment goals are also published, but the farmers can also get additional income through the cooperation. “We expect the program to improve the quality of life of the disadvantaged through their value-creating employment, to strengthen the social, child protection and health services of the social farms and social cooperatives participating in the program, as well as the rehabilitation and employment opportunities of the institutions,” emphasized Zsolt Feldman.

The state secretary emphasized that a project can win HUF 40 million in support

The level of support intensity of the fund is 65 percent, however, if activities related to the employment of a person with altered working capacity in a social institution as an employee are implemented, then the level of support is 100 percent. From September 10, 2024, it will be possible to submit support applications for social farm-type collaborations and collaborations with the participation of social cooperatives engaged in agricultural and/or food processing activities.
