The farmer training is on a new course
DEKRA Akademie’s training provides assistance to those planning agricultural work, starting their own farm and buying land.
Over the past two years, nearly 1,200 people have graduated from the golden ear farmer training courses organized by the DEKRA Akademie across the country. Despite the changes affecting the OKJ system this year, the largest adult training company in Hungary expects a volume similar to last year’s numbers. By August of this year, around 400 participants had applied. By the way, since 2009, more than 7,000 people have obtained a golden ear farmer certificate through the company’s training courses. – Agriculture is a strategically important element of the domestic economy: the output of the sector reached HUF 3,378 billion in 2021, and businesses provide a living for more than 202,000 people. Despite this, the sector continues to experience a serious labor shortage in several areas, which can be alleviated through training and retraining. Lajos Tornyi, sales director of DEKRA Akademie, emphasized.
Training is good for that
Such basic agricultural training is the golden ear farmer, which, on the one hand, creates the opportunity to do agricultural work after successfully completing the training, and on the other hand, it is important for those who are thinking about starting their own farm or buying land. – The goal of the golden ear farmer training is for the participant to learn general agricultural skills and after the training to have the theoretical, physical and practical preparation essential for agricultural work, as well as the basic knowledge required for entrepreneurial activity. According to the company’s experience, the majority get a farmer’s certificate after completing the course, with which they can buy or inherit land. said Lajos Tornyi.
The number of participants in the golden ear farmer trainings organized by DEKRA has continuously increased
In 2020, a total of 488 people graduated across the country, while the desire to learn reached its peak in 2021, when around 700 people successfully graduated from the golden ear farmer course. The youngest participant was 18, the oldest 76. The 30- to 60-year-old age group applied for the courses in the largest proportion. – This year, we expected two-thirds of the previous number of participants, approximately 400 participants. The reason for this was clearly the elimination of OKJ training, but this number of employees was already reached in August. The most important change is that in the case of courses with the new system, students will have to take exams in independent exam centers. In addition, it is important to know that in the case of the new courses, while a category “B” driver’s license was required for the OKJ training, this is no longer a requirement for the new type of program-requirement course. Lajos Tornyi explained.
DEKRA Akademie, as the largest adult training institute in our country, has launched nearly thirty other courses related to various agricultural fields, such as organic farmers, beekeepers, gardeners, in addition to the farmer.
