New marketing director at the head of Zwack
From September 2022, Gábor Dávid Kovács is the marketing director of Zwack Unicum Nyrt. The economist comes to the position with four years of experience in an international advertising agency and twenty years in the alcohol industry.
He started his career at the advertising agency McCann-Erickson, later Saatchi & Saatchi, then he was head of marketing at Ballantine’s, and before that he worked in Frankfurt and Prague at Allied Domecq Spirits & Wine, the parent company of Ballantine’s. The specialist was responsible for brands such as Kümmerling, the second most important herbal liqueur on the German market.
As marketing and trade marketing director of Roust for twelve years from 2007, he shaped the consumer perception of Jägermeister and vodka brands (Royal, Russian Standard, Zubrowka), as well as some prominent brands (Metaxa, Hendrick’s), while significantly increasing market share.
“During my career, I was lucky enough to work with world-renowned distilleries in many countries, but perhaps one of my greatest honors is being able to work on the further development of one of Hungary’s iconic brand symbols and a well-built premium brand portfolio. Unicum is not just a herbal liqueur. This drink contains everything that is important to us, the values of family, tradition and innovation”
– said Gábor Dávid Kovács.
